It's been a long time since I've designed a new office supply set. I was playing around last night and designed this little cactus motif. I thought he would be perfect for a unique, slightly playful office collection! I have some sort of mutant superpower that kills real cacti (apparently), no matter how "easy" they are to keep alive. So, I draw them instead. It's a way of coping with my dismal cacti-less future. And I can always hang the drawings by my desk and pretend I'm (sorta) on trend. (You can check out my cactus doodle tutorial here.) |
Now that I've confessed that, I'm ready to talk about the office supplies. Because who doesn't love office supplies?
I'm also including some free printable stationery at the bottom of the post to match!

Zazzle is a huge site with tons of products, so I haven't gotten around to designing everything yet. But here are few coordinated cactus office supplies to get you started.
1. Cactus Wipe-Off Board
A bit of word play on the usual "Stuff I Should Do". This version is a reminder that we should all be doing something (anything). Instead of just thinking about stuff we should be doing. Ya know?
2. Business Cards for the Slightly Quirky Person
I love business cards that are sleek and formal. And the designs that are minimal and modern...
But sometimes those styles don't fit you. Years ago, an exterminator service passed out business cards and I kept one just because the logo was so ridiculously funny. (It was a huge cartoon insect munching eating one of the lines of text.)
I didn't need to use that service, but I kept the card because it was the kind of thing that just got your attention and made you want to draw funny cartoon insects.
Channeling that weirdness, I've been toying with ideas for business cards that are fun and quirky.

3. All-Over Cactus Pattern Notebook
Like so many people in the world, I have a weakness for blank notebooks with cute covers. Or any notebooks...really.
This style is really cool. When you order it you can get it with different types of rule or even blank pages for sketching or drawing your own journaling format.

4. Button Magnet
I have a magnetic dry erase board that I think is the bomb. I highly recommend one for any home office area, even if it is a small board.
It's super helpful for daily organizing business tasks, and provides a great excuse to splurge on funky magnets you might not want on your pristine refrigerator. (My fridge is the first thing you see when you walk in the front door, so it is a "clutter-free zone".)
5. Do Not Disturb Sign
And just for the fun of it...a snarky door sign for your office or workspace. Sometimes my husband comes in the office and makes comments like "Oooohhhh, I thought you were working." when I'm on Pinterest.
Pinterest is Important-ish Stuff. So is reading The Onion, doodling out designs and re-arranging my drawing pens (again). Or even sticking fake mustaches on your plants.
So you know, sometimes you need to make it known that you are terribly busy.
If you like the door hanger but want a nicer (or sassier) message, the text is customizable. Say it your way!

More Office Supplies
That's just a few. You can see the whole collection here. There are tote bags, accessories, a pen and more. Even a 2017 Christmas Cactus ornament!
Now, are their any cactus whisperers out there that can tell how to keep one of the things alive? Magic spells?
I'll trade you these free printables for your secrets. :D
