It's almost time to start stocking up on those back-to-school supplies. If you are like me, then you probably like to start a bit early and beat that crazy rush of last-minute shoppers grabbing up what's left on the shelves. Okay. I also like buying "school" supplies because it gives me an excuse to hang out in the office supply section and fondle all the notebooks and novelty pencils. Since we homeschool, we don't have to worry about things like backpacks and lunchboxes, but we thoroughly enjoy browsing those pencil cases and silly erasers. |
Because cool supplies are the best school supplies, I've put together a round-up of some of the most amazingly cool, unique, fun and cute supplies that are on our wishlist for this year.
Really, these are so fun and art-y... they make me almost wish I was back in school again! Luckily, most of them will work great as "grown-up" office (or art studio) supplies too!

There can never be enough pencil sharpeners in the house. They are always getting lost or dulled down after too much enthusiastic pencil munching.
I'm pretty sure it would be impossible to feel grumpy (even about math!) with these cute emoji sharpeners on the desk.

What can I say? I'm a fan of cats, and this one is adorable. We use a lot of sticky notes for marking pages and leaving each other little doodle notes. Not to mention organizing our tasks. This is going to be a fun, convenient way to keep those memo pads at hand!
Aren't these little faux nail polish bottles crazy cute?
I'm pretty sure everyone needs a cute panda stapler. This is one of those great "ageless" school supplies that both kids and...uh, us mature people can enjoy.
And I just really want one for my desk!

Do you have kids that kind of obsess over little boxes? Mine love putting things in and out of containers (except their toyboxes!) so these little erasers went on my list immediately after I saw them.
Those little bento boxes are just awesome.

It would be such a shame to use these cute sloth notes up! These would be excellent for making notes in a school planner or for lunch box notes.
I plan to use cute notepads like this one and a few others for our school goal board for this year.

My kids like bright colors. And splatty things. :D There are so many beautiful and elegant pencil cases out there...but sometimes you just need a spot of bright fun.
And Other Stuff
Although there are hundreds of awesome school supplies out there, I have to approve everything through my "committee". Which is chaired by my six year old, and "here, here'd" by the twins.
Along with the items above, we will have to get practical stuff too, like stick glue, and rulers. (I haven't seen any ridiculously cute stick glue tubes yet. Bummer). According to my shoppers, we will probably also have Paw Patrol notebooks, unicorn pencils, Disney Princess reading books, Star Wars reward stickers, and something with dinosaurs.
I love how kids can combine the weirdest stuff and never feel at all bad that it isn't matchy-matchy. :)
